About the Governing Board of Directors

Somerset Academy, Inc. is the non-profit 501C3 organization responsible for the legal and financial obligations of all the Somerset Academy Charter Schools. The Governing Board of Somerset Academy, Inc. is comprised of community members who possess the expertise in areas of business, education, finance, law, school management and governance to effectively oversee the schools’ operations. These professionals are responsible for establishing policies consistent with the Somerset mission and ensuring that the educational programs and school operations are in compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Board of Directors Meeting Dates For 2009-2010

The following are the dates in which the Board of Directors for Somerset Academy, Inc will be meeting:

September 17, 2009 at 225 NW 29^th Street, Wilton Manors, Florida
December 17, 2009 at 5876 SW 58^th Street, South Miami, Florida
March 11, 2010 at 2000 South State Road 7, Miramar, Florida
June 10, 2010 at 300 SE 1^st Avenue, Homestead, Florida

Please note that all meetings are scheduled to begin at 10:00 am EST unless otherwise noted. The physical access point of each meeting will be at one of the Somerset Academy Charter Schools (specifically noted above; these meeting locations are open for the public to attend). Additionally, all meetings are also available via CMT (Communications Media Technology)/ teleconference. Persons interested in participating via CMT / teleconference or with any other questions should contact Kelly Mallon at (305) 669-2906.

Somerset Academy, Inc, a non-profit organization, will comply with chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes, relating to public records, and s. 286.011, relating to public meetings and records, public inspection, and penalties the Florida Statutes relating to public records and public meetings.

Please note that these dates are only proposed meeting dates and times. In the event that the date must be changed a notice will be posted on each campus no later than 5 days prior to the meeting.
